How do you know when a politician is lying? His lips are moving.
How do you know when a preacher is lying? His swelling bank account.
Both seminaries and political science programs are adept at manufacturing graduates indistinguishable from one another. These students are submerged in training tactics and skills developed to artfully captivate their audience with language the hearer wants to hear. And by doing so, he rises in positions of power and authority, and stays there so long as he does not deviate from tickling the ears and melting the hearts of the simple.
The simplehearted don’t know they are simple, simply because they haven’t heard, being ignorant, or have rejected the truth, being both ignorant and wise in their own conceits.
We’re told in Scripture to be wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. Basically, cultivated and learned toward that which is upright and honorable, and innocent or harmless toward that which corrupts right thinking, preventing good manners.
Having available oodles of information bombarding us from the moment we wake up till the moment sleep carries us back into our strange dreams, it’s a daily task distilling this intelligence to cognize what is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come: in essence, godliness, in a form that requires putting on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Personally, I believe the era of fine cultivation and good manners has passed. We are indisputably living in those perilous times Paul warned us about:
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. -- 2 Tim 3:1-5
Is this not a vulgar, reflective image of the age in which we now live?
We all know where we stand -- or where we stood when we knew not God -- in that philippic list of savage deeds. It should prick the heart of any unrepentant sinner who thinks too highly of himself and scoffs at the Word of God.
How many trucebreakers think nothing of breaking their covenant vows to pursue their love of pleasure?
Without natural affection, we have babies pulled from the womb limb by limb, sold and processed to be used in all sources of industrial products;
Men leaving the natural use of the woman, burn in their lust one toward another; God has given them up: for even their woman did change the natural use into that which is against nature. Another sign we are living in the last days of God’s longsuffering and grace, not willing that any should perish. Sodom and Gomorrah continued, until it met God’s wrath.
Psychopathic perverts, like Oprah and her vile kind around the world, traffick and exploit children in unspeakable ways;
Mothers and fathers sell out their own children for profit.
But it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. God sees it. There is coming a day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to Paul's gospel.
How many people covet things they don’t have? The world is filled with incontinent, intemperate addicts, traitors and pleasure seekers. And false accusers never sleep.
What is rare today is finding someone who is charitable and suffers wrong. Someone who is kind and does not envy another. Someone who is not puffed up or boasts of their achievements. Who does not act unbecoming or continually seek their own; is not easily provoked and thinks no evil upon another. And especially someone who actually rejoices in truth! (1 Cor, ch 13)
If you find such a one, hold on to them. They are extremely rare and of great worth. But this is no “Angel.” This pearl of great price has been tested and tried to withstand in the day of adversity and trial of her faith. Having her loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, her feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. And with her shield of faith, is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
This prized possession does not flinch when she must impart truth to an unregenerate scoffer. As an ambassador for Christ, she is an agent of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, in diplomatic service of the Highest Order. She walks in the path of righteousness, proclaiming the message of the gospel of reconciliation, the greatest gift, even now, still offered to man, which will quicken his dead soul and restore him into fellowship with his Creator.
Yet the path of righteousness is trodden by fewer and fewer feet now, which is quite telling. How many days left will God suffer the atrocities of men, vile in their affections, destructive of life and land, liars and idolaters, and despisers of that which is good and merciful?
I’d say, not long. As a fervent student of the Scriptures, rightly divided, I’m looking up every day.
For the past two thousand years, what if God…
willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath (the nation of Israel) fitted to destruction; so that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy (you and me), which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? -- Rom 9:22-24
As he made known to Isaiah, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. -- Rom 25-28
It is well known that God made a covenant with Israel that was not made with any other people. And it is without repentance. For the fathers’ sake. This is a great mystery which is the cause of much confusion in the church today. Take heed of this passage lest you be ignorant and simpleminded:
For I would not, brethren (believers), that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes; but as touching the election they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. -- Rom 11:25-36
Did you see that, when I shall take away their sins (future), and yet have now (present) obtained mercy through their unbelief? God is saving both Jew and Gentile today, but not under a covenant, and not under the commandment of the law! He is making a new creature at this present time according to the mystery revealed to the Apostle to the Gentiles: Paul. Read that whole chapter for greater context: 2 Corinthians 5.
God’s work is so multi-faceted that no man can fully know it. We can only continually search the Scriptures to see what is this fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. -- Eph 3:9-12
It’s Christ’s faith in perfect obedience to the Father that set Him apart from every other living creature. And we have access to the Father by our faith in Him!
That, my friends, is the mystery of this age which will very soon end. Until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. The door of salvation by grace through faith alone, will soon close. We will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
This is not the second coming of Christ. We disappear to our inheritance in heavenly places, but there are at least seven more years of the earth remaining. And it’s not a day of salvation. It is a day of God’s great wrath. This is the subject of Hebrews thru Revelation, and most of the content of the Scriptures of the prophets. Get that? We “rightly divide” prophecy from the mystery, as Paul informs us to in 2 Timothy 2:15.
What’s happening in the Middle East today, especially among the genocidal state of Zionist Israel, with the help of “christian zionists,” who are conducting a real time holocaust on the indigenous people of Palestine, while preparing for a climactic war in that region, is supremely anti-Christ. In fact, this is the subject of prophecy to which God will return and fulfill all that was written… after he that letteth is taken out of the way.
Are you that last Gentile to be come in? With the madness and growing darkness descending upon society today, so few are hearing and believing the good news so to escape the impending fierce wrath of God, when that door of grace will close.
God made the world in six days and rested the seventh. We have been on the earth since the beginning close to six thousand years. “God will do a short work on the earth.” And then He will rest one thousand years, termed the millenial kingdom, when the legit people of Israel will rule and reign in righteousness with Christ on the throne of David. He will be All in All and the sceptre of his kingdom will never end!
Don’t believe it? I feel for you simple one.
Thanks for hanging in there while I take time out to travel around enjoying the grandbabies arriving and growing! I’ll continue to write when I can.
All Scripture is from the Authorized Version, the King James Bible. If you want to see the mathematical perfection of the 1611 King James Bible, see the King James Bible museum online.
The truth, well-recited. Refreshing and a source of great comfort as well as a challenge -- making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
