There's a lot more to my view of it not being literal but honestly, it doesn't matter because we still overlap and agree on everything the Bible makes clear (which is pretty much everything).
Random, and somewhat unrelated (and again nothing to do with you, because you were just linking to his breakdown of the occult meaning which he is great at), but I don't watch Spencer Smith much anymore; for one thing he does fall for a lot of psy-ops (as you probably know) as if they're real. The guy needs better discernment, he doesn't really see things like Kirkgate and Eargate as fake which is just downright pathetic. I just thought I'd mention that about him because I stopped watching him when he said that he believed Trump was literally getting shot at.
Yes, I have noticed his discernment to be somewhat shoddy. I was debating whether to link his vid to my article. I did, and hopefully some good will come out of it.
Taking the literal view of the Bible allows it to make sense to me; has now for decades. If I were to use another sense of interpretation, that would open up the imagination to no end. And yet there's room for imagination at play. Book of Revelation? Daniel?
Thank you Dawn for explaining and exposing the two Kingdoms. The Kingdom of God vs. the Kingdom of Satan.
Satan builds his Kingdom with physical stones. Satan and his minions (i.e. members of the various secret societies such as the Freemasons) use physical stones (i.e. hewn stone)(Exodus 20:24-26)(1 Kings 5:15,17,18)(1 Kings 7:9). Satan's church is physical, such as a visible edifice or organization. In Freemasonry, Lucifer (a.k.a. Satan) is referred to as "The Great Architect of the Universe" or "The Great Architect". The Freemasons refer to themselves as "Master Builders" or "Builders." Freemasonry had its origins in the building of medieval cathedrals. In the late Middle Ages, masons gathered in guilds or lodges, regulated by statutes. Each new member had to undergo an apprenticeship of seven years and to swear an oath before they could receive the status of mason. Masons also orchestrate the building of the human civilization and societies, as we are seeing today with the New World Order (a.k.a. the Great Reset).
God builds his Kingdom with living stones. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Stone (Daniel 2:34-35) which the builders refused/rejected (Psalm 118:22-23)(Matthew 21:42). Stones are spoken of as illustrations of Christ and His people. He is the living stone (1 Peter 2:4-9), the corner stone (Isaiah 28:16)(Acts 4:11-12), and the only foundation that can be laid for eternal life (1 Corinthians 3:11). The Church of God, is not a visible edifice or organization but it is a Spiritual House, of which every believer in Christ is a member (Acts 20:28)(2 Corinthians 6:16)(Ephesians 2:19-22)(Colossians 1:18,24). Jesus is the high priest (Hebrews 6:20)(Hebrews 7-10). In Christ we are as priests (Revelation 1:6; 20:6) because we have direct access to God through Jesus who is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5)(Galatians 3:19). Burnt offerings are no longer required as they were in Mosaic times (1 Samuel 15:22-23)(Psalm 40:6-7)(Hebrews 10). Instead, spiritual sacrifices are given which is the yielding of ourselves to God for His service (Psalm 51:16-17)(Romans 12:1-2).
The prophet Isaiah presents the Lord Jesus Christ in striking contrast to all others. (Isaiah 28:14-22). Men may make a covenant with death and with hell, a refuge of lies and a hiding place of falsehood, but that will all be swept away. The only foundation that abides is Christ Himself. There are many Scriptures which clearly explain the differences between God's
(Spiritual) Kingdom and Satan's (Physical) Kingdom.
(Matthew 21:42) Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
(Acts 4:11-12) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(1 Peter 2:4-9) 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Thank you for adding good words. I would differ from you regarding the priesthood of the saints. The Kingdom of Heaven, which will be physical, set up on earth during the millennial reign of Christ, is God's program for the House of Israel, and aptly written to those Hebrews who will have to endure Jacob's Trouble laid out in the books of Peter, Revelation and OT prophets; even as it is revealed in the Four Gospels.
The saints saved under the Apostle Paul's ministry up to this day, and until the calling out as revealed in I Thess Ch. 4, are called a new creature, a member of the church, the body of Christ. We are never spoken of as "priests" in the epistles of our Apostle Paul. We are spoken of as an edifice, spiritually built by God without hands. Our inheritance is a heavenly calling, and that in us, as a corporeal body, with Christ as its Head, it pleased the Father to dwell fully within us. As we know, God is Spirit and no man has seen him. But in Christ's resurrected Body, God will dwell in him/us.
IOW, Christ dwells in us and we in Him. Israel will dwell on earth WITH Christ physically sitting on David's throne in Jerusalem, and they will reign with Him as priests over the whole earth, speaking one language again.
Does that makes sense? That's what I gather from Pauline doctrine. The above taken from Colossians Ch. One. The "Kingdom of God" in Scripture, however, references both God's program on earth and heaven brough together as one, when time shall end and eternity begins.
There are many different opinions about this. The trouble is that any understanding of such a period is an attempt to interpret some very brief and quite obscure and symbolic passages in the Bible. There simply isn't that much to go on and so Christianity is rife with wild speculations.
There are really two main ways of interpreting the "millenium". The first is the one you've likely heard about, but it is actually the least common and most recent in Christian tradition. It is called "Premillenialism" and interprets the passages about Christ's millenial reign hyper-literally, that Christ will physically return to earth and reign like a human king for a literal thousand years. This is, I'm afraid, simply ignorant, and no mainstream denomination believes in it whatsoever. Its usually held by "churches" and denominations.
Usually, it is held the belief nowadays called "Amillennialism", which holds that the texts about Christ's reign on earth prior to the Final Judgement are symbolic, NOT literal. This teaches that the so called "millenium" is the current age of the Church, and it will last indefinitely, until the Final Judgment, after which will be "the New Heaven and the New Earth".
Interesting take, but I'm not too fond of popular opinions or speculations, and I can usually be found holding the "least common" position; and so, in good company with my Apostle Paul and our Lord Jesus Christ.
When one trashes all modern New Age bibles and digs into the Authorized King James Word of God, and rightly divides it, it isn't difficult and most wise to assume a literal interpretation as it was written and as it holds consistent throughout all 66 books. Understanding is from God, not men. Let God be true and every man a liar. -- Rom 3:4
Thank you, Dawn for taking time to provide your insight. I understand what you have written in your reply, and will take more time to meditate on this subject using the Scriptures. I'm not too knowledgeable in the dispensational approach to reading/ understanding scriptures. I appreciate the details you have provided. Your articles are always well written & interesting. Thanks again for sharing your understanding with me and others.
