You Don't Know What's Wrong if You Don't Know What's Right
“The intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, and/or evaluating information,” which is what critical thinking is considered to be, is entirely lost on those who have been categorically hypnotized by mainstream media and have outsourced the drudgery of having to think for themselves to autocratic authorities.
So thoroughly convinced are they of belonging safely within the democratic majority zone as a centrist or moderate, that for someone to speak to them outside the spectrum of approved topics feels like vagrant extremism. You might see them slip into unconscious hostility induced by fear and anxiety if you press on.
Because the majority of people have been duped by propaganda into espousing mainstream political perspectives, those with an accurate read on things will necessarily be a small fringe minority until that dynamic changes. As long as your entire civilization is structured around deceit-based perspectives which serve the powerful, going along with the crowd will prevent you from forming a truth-based perspective that serves human interests. — Caitlin Johnstone
These bandwagoners, as Johnstone points out in her recent column, In a World Ruled by Propaganda, a Sane Worldview Will Necessarily Be a Fringe Worldview, are predominantly to blame for all the harm going on in the world. For to be the vast majority swayed by every wind of pied piping one would think by their sheer numbers their worldview must contain the truth. When really the only reason that worldview is mainstream in the first place is because so much wealth and influence has gone into making it mainstream, Johnstone writes.
What this author calls cognitive bias in which humans tend to take on beliefs, behaviors, styles and attitudes solely because that’s what the people around them are doing, is nothing more than the wisdom of this world which God calls foolishness; vain in their imaginations, their foolish hearts were darkened.
Without the Light that came into the world two thousand years ago to shine in them, they will continue to walk in darkness, the blind leading the blind.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 1:19–21 kjv
No one will be justified in God’s sight on the day each of us will stand before Him to give an account of himself unless he has been found in Christ with His light shining within.
To us who proclaim the ministry of the gospel, we maintain the true fringe worldview; having received mercy ourselves, we faint not:
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Cor. 4:2–4 kjv
The immoral, democratic, centric majority are lost. And the self-righteous fringe at either extreme end are lost. We have all become guilty before the Righteous Judge who sits on his throne above. But we have been offered a pardon and may escape the penalty of death and be found in Him who died in our place because of his great love toward us if we will simply trust him...
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. Phil. 3:9–10 kjv
This is the real plot happening in our world today, throughout history, and until the appointed time when God puts down all rebellion. Satan, and the rulers of the darkness of this world, will continue to hold men in darkness, blinding them from the truth as long as they can. The only escape from his dominion is to come to the light by believing that Christ died for our sins, was buried according to the Scriptures, and rose again the third day — having been seen by over five hundred witnesses — to give us life and an inheritance in that world to come, forever.
Two things the adversary does not want you to know: the gospel of Christ which freely saves, and the revelation of the mystery made known to the Apostle Paul given to us in Romans through Philemon — thirteen books revealing God’s grace to the world, without the law. Without the gospel you are lost. Without the knowledge of the mystery revealed you are powerless. Either one will do for him.
